Why fitness?

I started training to get better in track and field in high school. Now I train because it is my job. I never thought I’d be a Pro Bodybuilder, I wanted to be a WWE wrestler! I find I can compartmentalize my training separate from training others and from working the gun store.

What sets you apart from other athletes?

My style of execution in what I do sets me apart from everyone along the same lines of Pro status as mine. My other skills lay outside the gym and translate into more areas where I excel better. I am a competitive bbq master, I am a drummer, and I also am a gunsmith/salesman in a local gun store.

How would your best friend describe you?

Sassy, smart, quick-witted

What are your personal long term and short term goals?

Short term goal is to be one of the best bodybuilders in the world. Long term goal is to be remembered to the person you are/were in your industry.

Who inspires you and why?

My inspiration stems from a variety of people. No one in particular is pin-pointed. However I will say that strong willed people and decisive decision makers are my go-to people. They vary from both the fitness industry and the normal everyday people I’m in contact with.

What is your favourite Type of workout?

My favorite workouts are blood engorgement types. I do enjoy pure power movement training as well. Anything lower body focused, Quads, Hams, Calves…is a winner to me. My current training is Fortitude Training by my coach Dr. Scott Stevenson which is a combination of the above listed styles.

What keeps you going on the hard days?

Being mentally tough is never a given to most people, so I pride myself in being one of those. I can single area focus and make it work despite tough circumstances.

What are your favourite times to use your Gripped Headphones?

My favorite times to use the Gripped Headphones is during pretty much any activity where hearing something other than surrounding noise is helpful. I use them in the winter time for snow blowing, yard work, and house cleaning! I use them for training but that is a given! Music choices vary from Country to Extreme Rock, depending on mood.

What has been your favourite moment throughout your fitness journey?

My favorite moment(s) are the 1st place announcements throughout my career. An opposite side to this is being humbled with a lower place finish, forcing you reassess and get back stronger and harder than before. Not a favorite moment, but a necessary one for anyone that competes.

What’s a random fact that many people wouldn’t know about you?

Random fact: I wanted to be a WWE wrestler as a young adult before a pro bodybuilder.

What has been your biggest challenge through your fitness journey, and how did you overcome it?

Biggest challenge throughout this fitness journey has been the inconsistency of judging and surprise placing tactics. Never saw it coming but know it’s there. I can overcome it with constant in-your-face.

What advice would you pass on to someone in their own fitness journey?

My advice will be to seek the most experienced people in your industry, make some friends and share ideas. Learn all you can about the ups/downs, failures and successes and mould the ideas to fit your plan.

I train Fortitude. No explanation can be given
